SE Meat Miyazaki Obtains Halal Wagyu Export Approval for Indonesia!

SE Meat Miyazaki Obtains Halal Wagyu Export Approval for Indonesia!

In February 2026, SE Meat Miyazaki, a meat processing facility located in Saito City, Miyazaki Prefecture, officially received approval from the Indonesian authorities as a certified beef export facility.

As an affiliated company of NIKUJILLE Co., Ltd., SE Meat Miyazaki has already secured export approvals for Qatar, Kuwait, and the UAE. This latest approval—granting access to Indonesia, the world’s largest Muslim-majority country—marks a significant milestone in establishing Miyazaki Wagyu as a truly global brand.

Why Only “Three Facilities” in Japan? The Extraordinary Rarity of Indonesia Export Approval

Currently, there are only three facilities in all of Japan authorized to export beef to Indonesia:

    Facility Name Location Key Features
SE Meat Miyazaki Saito City, Miyazaki Newly approved in Feb 2026. First halal-dedicated facility in the prefecture.
Sanda Meat Center Kobe, Hyogo Handles halal processing for Kobe Beef and other premium Wagyu.
Nishi-Awa Beef Miyoshi District, Tokushima Leading halal Wagyu exports from Tokushima.

    Why is approval so difficult?

Exporting to Indonesia requires strict compliance with halal standards, making certification extremely challenging.

The facility must meet strict location requirements, including having no pig farms within a 5 km radius. SE Meat Miyazaki successfully meets this condition.

In addition, all equipment and processes must completely eliminate pork-derived materials, and slaughter must be conducted by Muslim slaughtermen following traditional halal methods.

Furthermore, Indonesia is scheduled to fully enforce mandatory halal certification for imports starting in October 2026. Obtaining approval at this stage provides a significant first-mover advantage.

A Massive Market of 280 Million People: Why Indonesia Demands Wagyu

Indonesia has a population of approximately 280 million people, with around 90% identifying as Muslim. As the economy grows, Wagyu is rapidly gaining popularity among affluent and upper-middle-class consumers as a premium status symbol.

The halal food market in Indonesia exceeds USD 100 billion (approximately JPY 15 trillion) and continues to grow at an annual rate of 7–10%. Demand is expected to expand further toward 2026, with the Wagyu market projected to grow steadily through 2034.

While most beef currently available in Indonesia is imported from Australia, the expansion of Japanese restaurant chains has driven increasing demand for authentic Japanese Black Wagyu.

Miyazaki Wagyu, produced and processed by SE Meat Miyazaki, has built a strong reputation, including repeated wins of Japan’s Prime Minister’s Award, and is highly valued by local buyers.

Synergy Between NIKUJILLE and SE Meat Miyazaki

NIKUJILLE Co., Ltd. specializes in high-quality meat distribution and global branding.

With SE Meat Miyazaki responsible for production and processing, and now holding certification for Indonesia, the group can unlock several strategic advantages.

They can establish a fully integrated supply chain from farm to global markets, reducing intermediaries and maintaining freshness.

They can ensure a stable supply of halal Wagyu, enabling direct business with luxury hotels and high-end restaurants in Indonesia.

They can also contribute to regional revitalization by expanding global demand for Miyazaki Wagyu, supporting the sustainability of Japanese livestock farmers.

Conclusion: From Miyazaki to the World — A New Era of Halal Wagyu

The approval of SE Meat Miyazaki for exports to Indonesia represents more than just a corporate achievement.

It is a major step forward in positioning Japanese Wagyu as a leading product in the world’s largest halal market.

With further expansion expected into Malaysia and Saudi Arabia, the global strategy of the NIKUJILLE Group is set to accelerate.

The future of halal Wagyu has begun, starting from Miyazaki.
